Guide to Picking up Women

Guide to Picking up Women by Don Draper (Mad Men)

Must Watch....

Stay Encouraged: Mediocrity - Disease of the Dull

You know, I do a sh*t load of reading and studying and praying and I've come to a few conclusions I want to share--

People look at politicians and celebrities on the TV and the newspapers, glossy magazines and what do they say, "I'm just like them," that's what they say. "I'm special. I'm different. I could be any one of them." Well, guess what? You can't!

You know why? Cause in reality, mediocrity is where most people live. Mediocrity is the elephant in the room. It is ubiquitous. Mediocrity in your schools, its in your dreams, it's in your family.

Those of us who know this, those of us who understand the disease of the dull, we do something about it. We do more because we have to. The deck was always stacked against us. You're either a big leaguer or you're a slave, clawing your way onto the C train.

....I will NOT allow the world I touch to be vanilla!

This monologue was acted by Kevin Spacey as Jack Abramhoff in Casio Jack

^ Is this you? ^

After college graduation, some people may understandably be in the stage pictured above. The key is, knowing it, hating it and having a practical, detailed escape plan. Stay encouraged!

I love coffee

Coffee is delicious!
Those who don't like coffee just haven't had the best type for their taste buds.

Here's a basic guide to finding the perfect pour:

A little more:

Every morning I have a Breve (espresso with half&half) but I also love Latte's, Cappuccino's and Mocha's!
If I'm out to eat, after dinner, I'll go Irish :)

Get your coffee on!

Cheers!

Summer Time.

I want to be here.

Instead, I'll be here....the library.

I just want to graduate.

Financial Literacy

A while ago, I read that Jigga Man and WB would be teaming up to make animated videos to help teach kids about financial literacy. But, I havent heard anything about it since. Even the preview was taken offline. I hope they go through with it, I can definitely use the education!

The Interview:

Facebook IPO: What the %$#! happened?

"Apparently, the IPO was an inside joke, Facebook's stock continues to suck harder that a Northwestern University freshman on a 5 foot bong in his profile pic. And the fallout from the most hyped IPO in history burst not just the illusion that Facebook is actually worth $100 billion, but the idea that Facebook is different than any other corporation hell-bent on making as much money as possible for a handful of very wealthy people." -gawker.com lol

Facebook's breathlessly hyped IPO on Friday has turned into a huge Wall Street debacle, with lots of confusion, and now, lawsuits swirling around.

Got Nunchi?

Though, Nunchi (or noonchi) exists as a concept in Korean culture,  in Western culture, it could be described as the concept of emotional intelligence.

No wonder our perception of beauty is distorted.

I saw this commercial for the first time in high school. It's just as provocative now as it was then.

How would a fashion makeover make you look?

“Personal beauty is a greater recommendation than any letter of reference.” -Aristotle

There's definitely a difference between what models and celebrities look like on and off camera. One day my friend Courtney and I had a random conversation about how celebrity makeup would look on us. Judging by the pictures above, I'm guessing we'd look very different.

There is no doubt that physical beauty is a highly valued quality throughout the world. Whether we wish to believe it or not, appearance is the first layer of our character, and people pass judgments on us based on this superficial aspect of our bodies. In spite of our many proverbs: "Never judge a book by its cover," "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," "beauty is only skin deep," we are constantly told through media and popular culture that the outer shell represents what is inside us....we all know that's false BUT it still doesn't stop some of us from wondering how we would look with a little more make up ;)
